• Peter and the Wolf

    The Selfish Giant

Two iconic stories are paired in an imaginative family concert to introduce young people to the orchestra.

Prokofiev’s famous tale is performed memorised, with costumes and props, by Bill Barclay. Oscar Wilde’s heartbreaking story of forgiveness combines new composition with electronic sound to create an immersive environment for storytelling.

Originally performed for the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, Barclay’s Peter and the Wolf was reprised twice to great acclaim at Symphony Hall, Boston.

Scored by composer Peter Bayne, and performed by Barclay, The Selfish Giant was commissioned and debuted in Washington National Cathedral in 2019. Score available upon request.
